We love to see the Temple!

Last Friday, Rob and I had the opportunity to meet my sister and her husband at the temple! We have been wanting to take Carson to the temple grounds and walk around with him...we always show him pictures, why not the real thing... so we decided to take him along! I absolutely LOVE the Mesa temple in the Spring (I always wanted to get married in the Spring..shucks). It is gorgeous...covered with flowers and smells fresh with orange blossoms. My sister and I had a lot of fun walking Carson around and taking pictures of him on the temple grounds! He was so calm and happy. Before my sister got there I had the opportunity to take Carson in the visitor's center and we sat and looked at the big statue of Jesus Christ for a couple of minutes. It's moments like that, that I know that little boy of mine knows so much more than I can imagine about our Heavenly Father and Savior. I am so thankful for his little spirit and happiness that reminds me of my purpose on this Earth!

Clapping Machine!

We have been working with Carson on clapping for the last month or so and he would occasionally clap, but today he flipped a switch and clapped all through breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Finally at dinner I quickly grabbed my IPod and recorded it. Not the best quality, but I am glad I got it on video! He is so proud of himself. It's funny!

8 Month Recap!

What?! My baby is 9 months today. I feel like this past month Carson really grew up a lot. Everyday he is becoming less baby and more of a little boy! Here is the recap of month 8 and all the fun things that he did, learned, and figured out! (February 18-March 17)

He got to take his first bubble bath in celebration of his 9 month birthday today! Def. need more bubbles next time

8 Months
  • Crawling maniac
  • Loves to pull up on the sliding glass door and look out at the dog in the yard
  • Loves to play with the vertical blinds
  • Loves helping Mommy load the dishwasher more like play on the dishwasher
  • Mama’s boy (which is not the most convenient sometimes, but I am glad he loves me)
  • Diapers changes have gotten almost impossible because he loves to twist and turn and grab. Speedy changes and changes on the go are what we do!
  • Doesn’t know what to think about crawling in grass
  • Size 3 diapers
  • Size 3 almost 4 shoes
  • 3 meals a day, 4 (sometimes 5) feedings a day
  • Walks along the couch
  • Claps occasionally
  • Working on waving
  • Loves to splash in water
  • Overall a very happy boy!
  • Unfortunately he has learned that if Mama or Dada takes something away that he can cry and dramatize it.
  • LOVES LOVES LOVES books, balls, balloons, and his toys.
  • Crawling up and down steps
  • Sits on knees
  • Starting to eat more little things Mommy and Daddy are eating
  • First haircut
  • First taste of dog foodgross
  • Beginning to use walker
  • Started throwing things out of his crib... during nap time, I will hear him in there jumping up and down on his bed while holding onto the railing and then I will hear a bam and a few seconds later a cry. He throws his binki out and then realizes, "Wait, I really wanted that"... silly boy.
  • He is still sucking on his crib railings. I really need to get those suckers covered before he becomes a beaver and the crib becomes his chew toy!
  • Diving (falling is more like it) into pool by himself at swimming lessons when Mommy give him the cue.
  • Ducks to crawl under things so cute!
  • Still loves Yo Gabba Gabba we have tried other shows, but he could care less!
  • Loves to crawl with something in his hand. It doesn’t matter what it is, but he does especially like it if the object makes a noise every time he puts his weight on it.
  • Two naps a day, but they are getting shorter.. like an hour and a half tops each. He is too little!
  • Bedtime 7 and will sleep till somewhere between 5-6 and wake up to nurse and then right back to sleep till somewhere between 7-8. (hopefully we can get rid of that early feeding before I wean him)

Two Choo Choo's in one Month... LUCKY!

Choo Choo's (as said by my nephew) must be a recent fav for us, cause this past weekend, Rob and I, along with some of our friends, took our little guys to a super neat train park in Scottsdale! My sister takes her kiddos there during the Christmas season for the fun festivities they have at the park. She told me it was a must-go-to park! We have been wanting to take C since we moved here, but just haven't had a chance. Rob's doesn't have a test this week, for the first time ever (shocking!), so we took full advantage of that and spent part of Saturday with the Choo Choo's! There was a carousal, a train you could ride around the park, a train museum, and a building full of model trains... +Plus all the typical fun park things! It was a lot of fun (so fun that C couldn't handle himself and wet himself and my shirt) and we can't wait to take Carson back when he gets a little older!

Warning: Way too many pictures! Just gotta deal with it! :)

pretty sure he loved the pole the most!

Broke the rules and stood up on the train the whole time

Chug-a Chug-a Choo-Choo!

Right outside of the zoo there is a train that goes around Reid Park, so on the way out we decided to give it a ride! (yet again softies) It was a cute little train and Carson LOVED it. Rob and I both said that we should have just rode the train all day, forget the zoo! C loves looking at the world around him, so this was perfect. He just hung out the window and soaked it all in!

Hi little duckies!

Oh Man, I guess we have to go home now... boo.. bye bye!

Zoo-goers!

We sure have become Zoo-going people! I guess it is just an easy fun things that we all enjoy and Baby C sure loves those animals! Last week Rob was on his spring break (WOO-HOO)!! So we took advantage of the time off and headed to the Zoo while we were in Tucson. Baby C was extra lucky this trip and got to feed the giraffes (his daddy is a total softy when it comes to buying/doing/spending money on this kids... the kid can't even talk yet! We are in trouble!) We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day!

Twiners!

Watching the ducks & quacking like them!

He didn't have any reaction to the giraffe being so close and licking his hand..No big deal, I guess.

Happy Friday!

I love these Baby Blues...

And I am totally diggin' all the new Cheerio flavors!
I have always been an everyday Honey Nut girl, but I am loving the new ones too! C even loves his multi-grain and Apple Cinnamon! My mom told me to mix the Chocolate and Peanut Butter..yummy combo!

Happy Friday!!

I think that I am in troble now...

Carson has discovered the dog door...yikes! I am in trouble now. He hasn't gone out it, or fallen threw it yet (thank goodness), but I know it is going to happen because he has gotten dang close. Guess Roxy is going to be stripped of her freedom and she will have to deal with the door being in most the day!

YIKES!

I will find a way out there!

"I wanna come out and play!" Poor guy, this is when I wish we had grass.

Bottle!

Baby C has never taken a bottle (against our wishes), not even with Mama milk! Oh well! It always kept me close to home. Anyway, because he always put up such a fight about bottles, we thought it was so funny that when we were down in Tucson his favorite toy and Mimi & Pop's house was a baby doll bottle! He carried that silly thing everywhere and pretended to drink out of it! Little Stinker!

1st Haircut

Carson got his first haircut last week! He did a great job and didn't fight it at all. However, he was curious as to what she was doing on top of his head and kept trying to look up! Rob has gone to the same lady to get his haircut since Junior High! She is such a sweet lady and actually cuts all the boys hair on both sides of our family...nephews included! When C was born she told us that we better let her be the first one to cut his hair, so we held out till we were in Tucson! Now, the fohawk is back!

We forgot to take a picture of the finished styled hair... opps!
