Blessing Day!

Carson you were blessed on August 7, 2011 in the Wildwood Park Ward in Tucson, AZ. It was a wonderful day and we couldn't have asked for anything better! Right after you were born we bought you a cute little pant blessing outfit, but as the day approached you were still swimming in it. So at the last minute we switched to a little short and bow tie outfit. You looked VERY handsome. LOTS of family and friends attended your blessing. You are truly loved! You were such a calm little guy on that day and didn't cry at all during your blessing! There were 15 special men that stood in your beautiful circle that day. They were Daddy, Grandpa Cook, Pops, Grandpa Great (Great Grandpa Cook), Great Grandpa Jack, Uncle Dan, Uncle Tim, Uncle Scott, Uncle Brian, Uncle Daniel, Great Uncle David, Great Uncle Robert, Great Uncle Bruce, and Bishop Bach. One of Mommy's good friends and your Aunt Kristy wrote down parts of your blessing and gave them to me so we could always remember it. Here are both versions!

CARSON ANDREW COOK
We bless you that you will continue to grow healthy and strong, that you will grow spiritually and learn about the Plan of Salvation and the plan that Heavenly Father has prepared for you.  We bless you that you will be faithful and one day serve a mission and share the gospel with the people of the world.  We bless you that you may someday be worthy to find a wife and a helpmeet and enter into the temple.  We bless you that as our first child you will be an example to your brothers and sisters who may come after you, and that you will be a light and example to others.  We again bless you that you will continue to grow healthy and strong and that no afflictions or ailments will hinder you from growing or from doing what your Heavenly Father has in store for you.

I give you a name and a blessing.  The name that you will be known by on the records of the church and here on this earth is Carson Andrew Cook.  I bless you that you will continue to grow healthy and strong both physically and spiritually....I bless you that you will grow in the gospel and find happiness....that you will serve a mission and bring happiness to those around the world.....I bless you that you will be worthy to find a wife and a helpmate and that you will enter into the temple and make covenants....I bless you that you will be a light and example to your other siblings and share the gospel with them....I bless you that you won't be afflicted throughout your life and that you will be able to pursue your dreams...

After the blessing, we had a special party just for you! We had dinner at Mimi and Pops and all of our family and friends helped us celebrate you! We love you so much!

Some family that came to the blessing. We weren't able to catch everyone, including Pops, before they booked it the party! :)

You always stretch your little arms up above your head and often sleep that way
You do not love getting in your car seat
You LOVE to be bounced and would be just fine with being bounced ALL Day
You LOVE your swing. It has truly been a lifesaver.
You DO NOT like you bouncer at least not yet.
You are a pretty good sleeper and let Mommy and Daddy get some rest
You are stubborn when it comes to burping
At first you frequently peed as soon as your diaper was taken off. That cool air got you almost every time. You sometimes even squirted out both sided! Haha ... most the time it was when Daddy was changing you.

You are losing your hair backwards (from front to back) makes you look like an old man—a dang cute old man

Still Waiting...

I always seems to neglect my blog... yet I love reading all of my friends' and families' blogs and never keep up on mine. So here is the update on the Cook-Crew!

In May, Rob graduated from the U of A! Yippy! I am so proud of him and ALL of his hard work! He worked and went to school during his whole undergrad and he NEVER once complained... such a great guy! We are excited to be done with the the undergrad stuff, but we sure will miss UofA. It is one of those love-hate things. We will forever bleed red and blue!! In the Fall Rob will begin Optometry School at Midwestern University, in Glendale! Ever since we got married, we knew this day would come, but it seems unreal now that it is here. Seems like something we just always talked about. He worked so hard to get here and I couldn't be more proud of him! So at the end of the summer we will be packing up our stuff and heading up to school for the next four year. Sad... but it could have been A LOT further from home so 2 hours seems like NOTHING!!

Last month, we also decided that it was time to trade my car for a Mommy Mobile. I LOVE my car, so it wasn't one of those FUN car shopping experiences. Rob even bought the car without me ever seeing it.... talk about making me NERVOUS, but he did good and I do like it. I still think I will be super sad (maybe even get teary eyed) watching my car drive away though... so if anyone wants a Red Mustang that is in great shape let us know!

In baby news, we are down to 6 DAYS till the due date!!! Yes, less than a week. We (especially me) are so ready for this little guy to come! I finished teaching my first year of 1st grade (which was such a wonderful...and sometimes overwhelming experience... I will miss those 19 little guys) at the end of May with 20 days left till my due date! I had a long list of things that I needed to get done before the baby came so I thought the time would FLY! I was so WRONG though. This has been the slowest 20 days EVER! Unfortunately, I think this little guy likes it in his Mama's tummy and isn't too anxious to come out.... if only he knew how much more space he would have if he came out! I sure hope he changes his mind and comes SOON and I especially hope he doesn't go PAST his due date! He still is Baby No-Name Cook! I hate making decisions like this and Rob really wants to see him first, so it is the perfect excuse to put off picking a name EVEN more (however, Rob TOTALLY already has the name he wants picked out :)... he just wants to wait to see him, so I can't try to change his mind while we are waiting...haha)!! So hopefully in the next 6 days we will meet our handsome little boy and get to start loving him even more than we already do! In the mean time we will continue to play the waiting game and get overly excited with any and all signs of labor!

30 Weeks!

Well yet again, this is not a very good picture! In fact, I am in my P.J.'s! I took it to send to my brother, but realized I haven't taken one in a LONG time and should update the blog too! I tell Rob everyday that I feel like I have doubled in size... I think that I can honestly say that I have doubled in size...maybe even Tripled in size since last picture! :) Well here is our Sweet little guy at 30 weeks! Only 10 more to go!! Yikes! He will be here before we know it!

(excuse the shadow lining my belly.... that makes it appear even BIGGER... we have NO good place to take a picture in our house)
