Me at 6 Months

6 months
Some of the fun things Baby C learned/loved/experienced/and started doing between his 6th-7th month! (Dec 18th-Jan 17th)
- Turned 6 months on Dec 18th--we sang you "Happy Half-Brithday"
-Trying Lots and lots of different foods—still hates green food
-Introduced to sippy cup
-Sitting up well
-At the beginning of 6 months you were still on Antibiotics for your ear infection and the meds caused you to get your first diaper rash! (It was a BAD one!) Poor little bum!
-Up on all fours rocking back and forth-can go backwards—flops/scoots/hops forward. He is SOOOOO close to crawling! So close. He can get where he wants to go though.
-Babbles to himself—“Dadadadada”
-Sits well in the front of the cart while Mama goes shopping
-Got Croup
-Rode on his first Carousal at Amazing Jakes
-First Christmas
-Love shows that have singing (like Barney)
-Loved Christmas lights
-2nd trip to the Zoo
-17lbs 10 ounces 26.5inches head in the 93 percentile
-Smashes face on you for a kiss
-Smile smile smile
-Hesitant towards doctor—but LOVES the attention when they are not close
-No more bouncing you to sleep when you fuss you had to learn to do it all by yourself now that you are feeling better. You have done a great job.
-You are sleeping through the night (mostly 7pm-5am, feed, back to bed till 8am. However today you didn't wake up to eat. Hope that means your 12hour nights are back!)
-You sometimes fuss with eyes closed around 10pm-12am wanting your binki back in I have love-hate feeling towards the bink.
-You are doing much better at really taking naps too!
-Eating Cheerios and loves them
-Did not like your nurse very much after she poked you with your 6 month shotsyou got the flu shot at your 6 month appointment too
-Loves Books
-You are SOOO good at playing with toys. I have never seen a baby play with toys so well and not get bored. You love when we play with you on the floor with your toys. Your favorite toys though are Mommy and Daddy’s i-pods, cell phones, computers, remotes, or anything else that has lights and is off limits!
-You can sit up in the bath, but always push back because you want to lay down and SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH! –you enjoy playing with bath toys
-Still drool like crazy-no teeth yet
-Such a ham—cute personality and contagious laugh! Truly a happy boy but a dramatic one at that
-Size 3 shoe
-Spitting up has slowed down A LOT still happens daily, but not every time you eat! YAY!
-Loves when we pop out from behind things or sneak up on him and tickle him
-On Friday, January 13 you decided to start full on crawling! You so badly wanted to get Mama's cellphone and the baby monitor, so you went for it--and you did it!!! (now Mama's life is going to get interesting!)

When Baby C was born he had a little dot on the bottom of his foot. After 6 months it has not gone away. I think it is safe to say it's a little birthmark. I will never lose you now!

Love your Naptime Bed Head hair.. your cute little ramp hairdo feel over!

To crawl or not to crawl?!?

Right before Carson turned 6 months, he figured out how to get up on all 4's and rock back and forth. He thought that it was so fun that he even decided that he should do it in his crib instead of sleep (not so fun for the Mama). Right off the bat, he was excellent at moving backwards and pivoting around in a circle, but he didn't seem to have any idea how to make his arms and legs work together to get movin' forward. Since Christmas, he has been dang close to crawling forward. He can get to what he wants but I would call it more of a scoot/flop/hop than a crawl. We will see if he masters the art of the forward crawl before he turns 7 months... he has 8 days! (...but then I really will have a mobile baby...not sure if I am ready for that).

Ignore me in the background. I was on Facetime with my Mom and didn't realize that Rob had started recording already. Oh well! Oh and that is my apron not some ugly shirt! :) Just saying!

Little Wildcat

We are starting him young! So our little Wildcat got this hat for Christmas! Wildcat for life! (although with the way tuition is going up our wallet might push him to be a Cougar..we will see!)

Don't mind his left over dinner all over his face!

Zoo trip number two!

Between Christmas and New Years we went to the zoo with Rob's brothers and their families! It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. Baby C loves watching the animals and being outside! We love the Tucson Zoo because it's small enough we can see all the animals and enjoy ourselves before our little guy gets burned out!

How do I get water out of this darn cup?

Baby C recently started using a sippy cup. He loves when we give it to him, but he has not totally figured out how to use it.
Baby C trying to figure out how to get the water out!

Maybe I turn it upside down!

Nope...didn't work!!

This cup is SILLY!

Finally!!! Now if only he would learn how to do it himself!

Happy New Year!

We had a lot of fun ringing in the New Year while dancing it up to Just Dance with my parents, sisters, and brother-in-laws! We would play it all night long if we could! Carson didn't last much past 7... he didn't even manage to stay awake long enough to ring in the "fake" New Year with his cousins. Oh well! We did manage to get a picture before he headed to bed though!
It was a little sad to see 2011 go, it has probably been our BEST year yet!! Here are a few of our favorite/best/biggest moments of 2011 (not in any order)!
  1. Baby C was born!!
  2. We held our baby for the first time
  3. Rob applied and interviewed for Optometry School... and we waited and waited and waited!
  4. Rob graduated from the UA
  5. I finished my first year of teaching... I loved my little first graders!
  6. Rob got into Optometry School!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (we could finally take a deep breath)
  7. We moved to Glendale
  8. Career change for me... Full time Mama and loving it!
  9. We all survived Rob's first semester of school!
  10. Survived 6 months of Parenthood... We can't imagine how we lived without this cute little guy before!
  11. And our favorite memory to bid farewell to 2011 (just a few days early) was the news that my dad was official cancer free after being diagnosed only 2 months prior
We are incredibly grateful for the year we had. We are grateful for the lessons that we learned and the faith that we gained as we often turned to our Heavenly Father during this year of happiness, stress, excitement, and unknown. We are grateful for the new kind of love our son has brought into our lives and the better perspective of our purpose on this Earth. We can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us. We are already so excited to welcome Elder J home this summer, meet our new nephew (via Mandi), and enjoy having Daddy around more often during his summer off! 2012 We Can't Wait!!!
