Pool Time!

By far, one of Carson's favorite activities of the summer was going swimming! Which was a great way to stay cool! We ended up getting a YMCA Membership for the summer, mostly so Rob and I could work out, but we ended up using their pool a ton and went a couple time a week! It worked out perfect! We also took full advantage of Rob's brother's community pool and Mimi even set up a little plastic pool on the back patio too! Sadly I didn't get any pictures at the pool, but I did get some of Carson and his cousin Luke while they were playing in the pool on the back porch!

Carson loved swimming so much that he even went first thing in the morning, which explains his tired "just woke up" eyes in these pictures! We already miss swimming with cousins lots!

We're So Glad When Daddy Comes Home....

... and gets to stay home for the whole summer!!!! YAY!!! Rob officially finished his first year of Optometry School.... WAY TO GO SWEETY!!! We couldn't be more excited for this summer break, so we can soak up LOTS and LOTS of Daddy time... especially since this is his last summer before school goes year-round! Rob worked unbelievably hard and studied countless hours, but it was SOO worth it! We survived year one and he did great! Only 3 more to go!!

Year 1 seemed to go by SOO fast for both Rob and I, but it is crazy to see how much C grew up in that time! Check it out!

Just a week or so before Daddy's last Day of Year 1!

Poor Rob!

I have a confession, but first I must say I do a lot of things around the house for Rob since he is so busy with school and I love doing them for him so his load on the home front is not too busy and he can give all his attention to school. BUT, I must admit yard work is not my specialty. I can pick weeds and rake, but when it comes to cutting/shaping bushes and trees I get way nervous and really don't know what I am doing. It took everything in me, but I ignored our overgrown yard all school year and only demanded a few be trimmed after someone got cut up by a pokey bushing hanging over the sidewalk while coming to the door! haha! So yard work was on the top of the list when school got out and unfortunatly it was already WAY too hot (thinking about it, we should have just paid someone to do it), but Rob found a way to stay slightly cooler. He just popped up our awning and moved it from bush to bush...embarrassing?! Red-neck-ish?!... yes maybe a little and yes everyone that drove by looked at him weirdly. But THANK YOU SOOO much sweety. It looks SOOO much better!!

Hey Look Dad... I found my new favorite toy!

While we were at Rob's parent's house, Carson discovered his new favorite toy! Rob was thrilled...hahah...NOT! However, Grandma was quick to remind Rob that he himself had a Joey Baby Doll growing up and grandma also pointed out that at least the stroller wasn't pink! I say that he is just practicing for one day when he becomes a big brother!

10 Month Recap

I know I always blog about our little guy, but he pretty much is our entire life! It's crazy to think that another month has gone by and he is now 11 months! I will admit that I wasn't the best about writing things down this past month, but here are a few new things that C started doing when he was 10 months old (April 18-May17)

10 Month Recap

  • Carson’s biggest accomplishment of the month was he started walking he seriously looks like such a big boy now L
  • Has begun running with his walkerhe is crazy!
  • Loves to read I See a Monster or any book that is touch and feel
  • Is really trying to talk and says things that sound like actual words—like doggie
  • We live near an airport so there are quite a few planes that fly over during the day and any time Carson hears one he stops what he is doing, listens very closely, and looks up at the ceilingit’s seriously so cute! He is so curious!
  • Drinks out of a straw
  • Got a top tooth—3 teeth now and the 4th working its way down
  • Size 4 shoes, size 3 diapers
  • Obsessed with his car and drives it around ALL day
  • Often sneaks into his room and sits next to his bin of books and looks through all of them
  • Loves to push buttons—especially if it makes a noise
  • Loves to get in the pantry and reorganize it. He is such a good helper!
  • Really really loves to feed himself and often bats the spoon away if we try and feed him
  • LOVES LOVES LOVES watermelon & grapes
  • Loves when Daddy comes home and plays with him
  • Loves when we chase him around the house
  • Swings in and out on the dog door
  • Tried his first taste of Frozen Yogurt (Raspberry & Mango) and was a crazy maniac about it
  • Crawls and stands in the bathtub now, which makes things a little more interesting!
  • Still as wiggly as ever when it comes to diaper changes
  • Still nurses 4x’s a day. We are gearing up to wean. Hope it goes well
  • Whenever he sees a cup, or anything that looks like a cup, he picks it up and tries to drink out of it super funny to see
  • Becoming very independent and loves to explore new things
We seriously love our little guy more each day. We often laugh about all of his silliness late at night after he has already gone to bed. We couldn't imagine our life without him and we can't believe he is almost ONE! Time REALLY does go by soo soo fast!

Mother's Day!

This year was my first official Mother's Day (I was 8+months prego last year)! Rob is gearing up for finals and is beyond busy, but regardless he was sweet enough to find a little time to help make my Mother's Day special. Rob and Carson got up early and made me a special breakfast and had beautiful flowers and a present for me. Today, and EVERYDAY, I feel so lucky to be the Mama of my little monster. He changed my life forever and the day he was born my love grew a 100x! I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for trusting me with one of his precious children to love and guide back to Him on this earth!

(P.S. I can't believe that I am about to post these pictures on the worldwide web for anyone and everyone to see. I have to tell you that I don't know what I do in my sleep but every morning my hair is CRAZY and obviously I didn't tame it before these pictures. Also I have no make-up on... not my best look!)

Also, since it is Mother's Day I must give a shout out to my beautiful Mother and Mother-in-law! I swear my mom is super mom! I admire her and lean on her all the time. I call her almost everyday asking her a million dumb questions. I don't think I will ever stop learning from her and I am pretty sure that no matter how many times I call her I will NEVER be as wonderful of a Mom as she is! Thanks Mom for helping me become the person I am today and always supporting me!

I am also so grateful for my Mother-in-law. Heck she raised 4 boys...no girls.... 4 adventurous, wild boys...I think that deserves an award by itself! She taught my husband how to be a respectful hardworking boy and man. He is a wonderful husband and father and I know it has A LOT to do with the lessons she taught him and for that I am forever grateful for the mother is!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
