Meet the newest Cook!

Yes, I finally gave in and let Rob get a dog! Roxy (our dog) is 7 weeks old. One of the customers of the pool company Rob works for rescued the mommy of our puppy after she was already pregnant. So, we have no idea exactly what our puppy is. All we know is that her mom was a smaller black lab. We took her to get her first round of shots on Monday and the vet said that he thinks it is either mixed with golden retriever, poodle, some spaniel, or some combination of these. As she grows up, it will be easier to tell. She weights 3.8 pounds and the vet also thinks that we will have to get her groomed (meaning no shedding) but time will for sure tell. If she didn't shed, this pup would be too good to be true because the lady gave her to us for FREE! That is the best price. Needless to say, Rob is IN LOVE with her! He is obsessed! Roxy already has so many friends in the family. Surprisingly, Cooper, my parents horse, I mean dog, is sooooooo gentle with Roxy and Roxy is totally not afraid, even though she is only the size of his head...haha! All I know is that we have only had Roxy since Friday and I already have learned that I am Definitely NOT going to have a baby anytime soon.=) Anyway, I am suppose to be getting ready for Girls Camp. So I better get going!!

Shelly vs. Concrete.... Concrete WINS.

Before I say anything, let me assure everyone.... NO I AM NOT PREGNANT. Now that everyone is clear on that, I will go on with the story. On July 1st, I was at work doing the normal old stuff when all of the sudden after about two hours I felt horrible. It hit me out of nowhere. I was on the playground watching the kids, so I decided to walk over and get a drink. By the time I got there, I was feeling worse. After I got a drink and tired sitting down, I decided that I was going to throw up, so I might as well stand up and lean over the 50 gallon trash can that was behind me. That is about the last thing I remember. The next thing I knew, there were people all hundled above me shouting my name. When I turned around to throw up, I passed out hit the bridge of my nose on the trash can and then my head on the concrete. By the time I woke up, they had called an ambulance and there were about 6 guys coming to help me. Kinda sounds serious. But really it was no big deal. I was at work, so my work had to cover all their bases. I went to the hospital and after some tests, everything looked great, besides my face that is. They aren't really sure why I passed out. Might have been random or due to heat, but they had no way of telling. After hitting my nose so hard, I was lucky enough to not only get a bump on my head and a scrap on my nose, but I got the privalage of having not one, but two black eyes. That is a first for me. Like I said before, I am totally fine and have had an interesting week and a half as people look at me with a curious face probably wondering if my husband beats me... haha! My eyes are almost back to normal! And I don't plan on passing out again anytime soon!

This is day one. Not much bruising, just swollen. Nathan (J's friend informed me that I looked like a frog at this point... Thanks Nathan)

This is day three: swelling down, black eyes begin.

Lake Trip!

This weekend, Rob and I were able to go to the lake with some of Rob's family! As normal, we had lots of fun! Rob is so good at skiing and wake boarding and makes me look WAY bad, but none the less it is still lot of fun! The weather wasn't too bad either. It is a miracle, Rob got sunburned and I DIDN'T! Logan, our nephew, came along too. He is just two and he is sooooo brave. He went on the tube (going slow of course) and was totally into it. He didn't want to get off at all! He was lots of fun! Thanks Craig and Kath for taking us!

HAAAAAAPPPPPYYYYYY.....

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY CHRISTI!!!

Well I was looking forward to Christi having a birthday so I would have something to blog about, but Shanna beat me to it. Regardless, I am going to do it anyway. But now I am going to do it early because Shanna did too! Christi's birthday is Sunday, which is Father's Day... she loves when that happens =)! Christi is such a fun older sister. When I first came into the family, Christi DID NOT like me. There is about a 4 and a half year gap between the two of us, so when I came along, I stole her place as the little girl. My mom and dad used to catch her pushing me over when I was just a few months old. It is okay though, I got revenge years later when I completely ran over her in my power-wheels truck... haha! Once I was older Christi liked me and I became her and Shanna's toy to dress up and boss around. I thought the two of them were the coolest and I wanted to be just like them. I remember when Christi turned 16, we used to drive around in her car with the music on and the windows down. I thought we were SOOOO cool! I wanted to be just like her when I grew up! Anyway, Christi is a great sister. She is so calm and collected (most of the time ;)) which is opposite of me. She never likes to see me or anyone sad and is always the first one to comfort you when you are. I love you sis! Thanks for always being so giving and loving to your bratty, overly stressful, little sis!

Randomness

So this is a random post... anyway, about 3 weeks ago in one of my classes each of us had to teach a lesson on anything. So, a girl in my class taught a lesson on how to plant a seed. I brought it home and Rob was very excited. He watered it everyday and after a week it actually started to grow. They are suppose to be sunflowers and the first pot was way too small, so Rob decided that he was going to move them. Well we tried that and ripped the roots off of one. Rob was devestated, so at like 9pm he went to the store and bought more. He still planted the two that we tried to move from the little pot because he said he couldn't give up on them. Surprisingly, they are all still growing and there are two more in there that he planted. Every morning he gets up and goes and waters them and as soon as he gets home that is what he looks at. It is kind of pathetic. The poor guy needs a dog or something.

In other news. We have a new niece! She is beautiful. She was born on May 7th. Her name is Allison! She is such a doll!

Only 2 more days of these semester!!!!!!!!!! We are done Friday and we are SOOOO excited. Rob is taking pre-session which is only 3 weeks and he is taking Spanish, so that should be easy. And I have to take summer school, but it is online, so I can work still and it should be easy as well. So, we are excited to actually enjoy this summer, unlike last.

Justin Graduates in a week from today! We are so excited for him! He is growing up way too fast though!
