Saturday June 18th is the day our life changed forever! Our sweet adorable Carson Andrew Cook was born. He came two days late (torture), but before our set induction (Yay!). He weighed 8lbs 3oz (chunk) and was 21inches long. As I held our little boy in my arms for the first time, fresh from heaven, my heart was forever changed. My heart was filled with a new kind of love. A kind of love I never knew I could have for such a tiny little guy! I love my being his Mama and I am so happy that I get to love him, teach him, and hug him tight for the rest of forever!

Our little Fish! (back dating)

After moving to Glendale, one of my friends told me about a swim school that offers FREE, yes free,  swimming lessons for babies till they are 6 months old. I know what you are thinking... How much swimming can a tiny baby actually do?!?! But Baby C loves loves loves it! It has been a great way for him to get used to water and not develop a fear. He is quite the little fish and LOVES to splash the entire 30 minutes we are in the pool. He even lets us dunk him and doesn't shed a tear...such a brave little guy! These pictures are from his first lesson back in September. We were so happy Rob was able to go with us!
 

I can't believe how much he has grown up since then... he will be six months in two weeks.

1 Quarter down!!!

I am not going to lie... it is ridiculous that I have not blogged in the past 5 months. My. poor. baby. is no where to be found on our blog. :( I seriously need to step it up and really am going to try to get back into the blogging world especially since it is my only current journal of our happenings (pathetic journal... see it's a CRIME). I am not even going to try to catch up on the last 5 months at the moment. ugh! **too overwhelming**

Anyway, we had a FANTASTIC Fall break these past two weeks! Rob survived (and LOVED) his 1st quarter of Optometry school! Yay! However, after his VERY VERY VERY busy quarter Carson and I were missing him LOTS and were very excited that we got to spend 2 WHOLE stress and study free weeks with him! Since we had so much time off we decided to pack up our stuff and enjoy our break in Tucson... we especially enjoyed the added perks of visiting family like free meals, babysitting, and we even some laundry service (seriously my Mom spoiled us).

We sure did have fun and soaked up every minute of Rob's break! Needless to say, Monday was a very sad day as we watched Rob leave for school. Back to reality we go! Can't wait for Christmas!

5 Months

5 months

Some of the fun things Baby C learned/loved/experienced/and started doing in his 5th month leading up to his 6th month! 

16lbs 10 oz

Started solids—HATES green vegetables

First cold & ear infection--which lead to you waking up again in the middle of the night

Started practicing sitting up

Sitting up with support & can sit up alone (wobbly) for a little while

Swung in a swing at the park

Loves going down the slide with Mommy and Daddy

Squeals to get attention

Loves Squash and Sweet Potatoes

Visited Santa...actually 3 Santas

First Thanksgiving—had peas

End of 5 months-trying to crawl

Scoots around in a circle

Rolls across room

Never sits still

LOVES LOVES LOVES his jumparoo aka the pooparoo because he always spoils his diaper in it

Went to your first UA football game 

End of 5 months-hairstyle change to ramp (hair getting longer on top) and you are growing more hair on the sides

First big owey (on Mommy's watch too.... sad day)

Really started to look at Roxy and wants to get her attention and touch her

4 Months

4 months

15lbs 10 oz 25.27in head=80 percentile

Early 4 months

Can Roll from back to tummy if you really want to, but you don’t do it a lot

You are so strong and continue to hold your head up so well

You have the CUTEST laugh! Everyone loves it! You laugh a lot at people

You take you binki out of your mouth, look at it, and can almost get it back in

You are practicing sitting up and can go a few seconds without Mommy or Daddy’s help (you do tilt forward a bit)

We ALWAYS find you sucking your hands!

You were a dragon for Halloween

You love to look at people when we are out

You are in size 2 shoes! Big boy!

Still spitting up L, but not as much as before!

Drool, drool, droll!

Went to your first birthday party

Good sleeper by night, not so good at napping by day

You are a good sleeper in the car. Once the car gets going it rocks you to sleep. You are been this way since you were about 2 or 3 months.

Flirt

Refuses to drink out of a bottle… you used to take one every once a while when you were younger, but now you will not have anything to do with it

Loves watching the TV…not good, but you like it and think that the people on the screen are talking you to and smiling at you. You get the BIGGEST grin on your face when they look right in the camera! That must be why you love the news so much because the anchors all look into the camera

Later 4 Months

Your last little patches of baby hair that you had from birth feel out in the back. You have lots of new hair though. At least enough to sport the fohawk

Started rolling over to tummy while sleeping and crying till we came to help you roll back over L

Eating A LOT (still just nursing)

3 Months

3 Months

-September 19-20: Slept from 7pm to 6am… 11hours STRAIGHT!! Happy Mama

-Laughs a lot at mommy and daddy

-Head under water at swimming lessons 10/3/11

-Eyes our food

-Sep 29- 14lbs 14oz 24.4inches long

-Turns around in his crib

-Laying on his side

-Still LOVES to suck hands

-Grabs things with his feet

-At almost 4 months start going 12 hours between feedings at night :)

-Holds head up very well

-Totally show off—LOVES to get people’s attention and have them talk to you

-You sit in your stroller without your car seat and look all around while I shop—sometimes it only last a little while though and then you want to be held

-Will SOMETIMES take a little nap in his stroller while Mommy shops

-At almost 4 months, you started peeing in the bathtub. When you relax you just pee

-You love to splish splash in the bath (late 3 months)

-Loves playing airplane

-Doesn’t love tummy time

2 Months

Two Months old

11lbs 11oz 23inches long

You smile!! And boy are you cute

You were blessed-baby acne started clearing up

August 17^th- Rolled over twice… such a big boy

Your hair fell out and how it is growing back!

As of Aug. 30 Sleeping 6-8 hours (Most days… the last couple of nights it has been less), but still not straight through

August 13^th- First time that you slept in your big boy crib in your very own room

You look right at people and smile big

You enjoy looking at books. Your favorite is Mirror Me… it is a book that has mirrors in it.

You love to hear people sing. At church when we sing you are so calm and peaceful.

You are becoming a good talker…especially when you are happy.

For some reason you LOVE the changing table. I guess it is your happy place. You are ALL smiles and coos when you are on there… You must like being diaper-less! J

He watches and follows Roxy with his eyes when he is around her.

He loves the bum spank… it puts him to sleep every time.

12 weeks
