Splish Splash I'm taking a bath!

HHHHHIIIILLLLARIOUS!!!! (not bias or anything being his Mama ;)!) Bath time is his favorite!

Valentine's Day!

On Monday I needed to run to the store to get some last minute things for Valentine's day and I had the little guy with me! Frys was FULL of Valentine balloons everywhere and Carson kept looking up at them and was so curious. At this point I hadn't gotten him anything for Valentine's Day. He doesn't know the difference, so I wasn't really sure if I was going to even get him anything, but I decided to buy him one of the balloons, which by the way were overpriced, but oh well! I hooked it to the cart and for the rest of the shopping trip Carson just looked up at the balloon. It was funny. I wish I had taken a picture. He loves that balloon and was hauling it around with him for most of the day. We now have it hooked to his high chair and he pulls it down and punches it like crazy while he is eating. I would say that it has turned out to be well worth the money I paid for it.

On Tuesday's Carson and I attend Baby Time at the Library with a couple of friends and their babies that we have met through Rob's program. Our husbands are best buds and it works our great that we are all stay at home Mamas too! After Baby time we usually meet our Hubs at school and have lunch with them! Since V-day landed on a Tuesday, we decided that it would be fun to do something special for the boys. So we decided to surprise them with a fondue lunch! Since our house it close to the school we decided to have it here. It was a lot of fun and I think that we really did surprise the boys!
Side note-I know... for most of you, you have NEVER seen Rob in his glasses--so strange! But he actually now has to wear them a lot for school. I guess so they can practice poking each others' eyes out! jk :)

Pulled out my art stuff and made it Valentiney!

For Valentine's Day Night, Rob and I decided to stay in! We didn't want to fight the crowds and we didn't want to pay to eat at a place that took reservations in order to avoid long waits! We decided that we would wait and go on a date when Rob is on break so it is stress free!! So I made dinner (steak...Rob's FAVORITE!) and Rob made dessert ( fondue...he had no idea that is what we were having for lunch, but I can't complain about more chocolate! Oh and thanks Mandi for helping him out!). We also watched a movie and played Just Dance!! I totally killed Rob!! haha! It was a fun break! Since we are on a student budget, we decided not to spend a lot on Valentine's Day. I made Rob a Man-Bouquet... made of all his favorite candies and a Love Story Eye Chart...seems fitting since he is in optometry school! Rob got me some of my favorite perfume! He was so excited about it because he said that he got a SMOKING deal...he had ordered it online. It wasn't here on V-day so I got an IOU, but it arrived a few days later and Rob was SOOO disappointed! haha we knew then why it was SOOOO cheap! It was a small small small bottle like sample size! :) I still love it and am so grateful that I got to have the two sweetest Valentine Boys ever! I Love You Robby and Carson!
Carson's little Lion Valentine for Daddy!

Growing Boy!

Carson turned 8 months yesterday!! Such a big boy! Before he grows too much more, let's recap month 7!
7 months

7 Months
(Jan 18-Feb 17)
  •  You have become quite a good crawler. When you first turned 7 months your favorite things to crawl to were Roxy and cell phones.
  • You have been eating A LOT better. You will pretty much eat whatever I give you and you especially love your fruit! You eat two whole containers of baby food at lunch and dinner
  • You can put the little finger foods in your mouth by yourself
  • For some reason you have decided that it is okay to snuggle with Mommy every once and a while. You will put your head on my shoulder/chest. You especially do this when you know I am going to put you down for a nap or in the carseat. It is like you are getting one last snuggle in before you go down. Or maybe you are hoping that if you snuggle up to me I won’t put you down. Or maybe you are starting to have separation anxietywho knows. You also started doing this when you get nervous or scared. Like when the vacuum is on or when Mimi and Pops took us to the Zoo and you were afraid of the statue animals. Silly boy
  • You are beginning to pull yourself up on things—everything, even things that cannot support you.
  • You are standing up in your crib and sucking the sides—which makes nap time a little more fun for you, not so much for me!
  • You will crawl to our legs and want us to pick you up
  • You love drinking water out of a straw from Mommy or Daddy
  • Went to the phoenix zoo for the first time
  • Love talking out at story time—you LOVE the songs we sing there. The older man that helps that woman that runs the show told me that you are his favorite baby to watch there because you are always so happy and excited.
  • You are being such a good boy at church and will play quietly on the floor. Early church sure does make him less grumpy
  •  You started pulling up on the back of my legs while I am blow drying my hair. You will hold on and stand behind me the whole time I am drying my hair. It is hilarious.
  • You LOVE the baby cheese puff sticksbasically cheetos. For some reason when I give you the Garden Tomato ones you get little splotches around your mouth, but not with other flavors. Hope you aren’t allergic to tomatoes. :/
  •  You got your 2 bottom teeth within days of each other. You didn’t even fuss! Tough Cookie!
  • Sleeping 12 hours at night and usually 2-2hour naps
  • Size 3 diapers
  • Love Barney (why do kids like that big purple dino) and Yo Gabba Gabba
  • Started the first level of real swimming lessons and you are doing great! You can hang on the side of the pool all by yourself and basically crawl out, with a little help from Mama!
  • You found the pups water bowl I guess they will be moving up
  • You have found all the cords and outlets too! You especially love pulling the wallflowers out.
  • You love other people, but play the shy boy when random ladies give you attention
  • Started blowing raspberries

Jump-a-roo

I would have to say that Carson's jump-a-roo has probably been his most favorite toy the last 2 months. He LOVES to jump and would jump all day if I let him. But now that he is crawling more, he often prefers to be on the floor. Then that way he can explore EVERYTHING. However, just when he thought that his jump-a-roo wasn't as fun as it used to be, he found a new way to play with it. Shake it!! I am sad that I didn't have the camera when he first discovered he could shake it. He was going crazy! But you get the idea! Funny kid!

You have to wait till almost the end of the video to see him shake it--sorry!

No more gummy smile

Since Baby C was 2 months old he has drooled NONSTOP! He generally soaks through his entire shirt if we don't put a bib on him. He is like a faucet...it's kind of gross! But finally all that drooling paid off and at 7 1/2 months he got his first little bottom tooth. We felt bad because we didn't even realize that he was cutting teeth... all the drooling was nothing new. He wasn't fussy or anything and still went 12 hours at night. Last Friday when I was feeding him dinner I saw something white in his little mouth and it was his little tooth peeking through. Lucky for him, since he noticed that tooth, we realized that his other bottom tooth was also trying to make it's way through. So we gave his little gums some relief with some Orajel. We are happy that he was a tough little cookie for this round of teeth. We will see what all his other teeth bring!

Needless to say, now that he has teeth I am a lot more attentive while nursing and praying he doesn't learn to bite.

Dance Party

I love having dance parties at home! No I am NOT a good dancer, but I love to just blast the music and dance all around. However, if you know Rob at all then you know that he was blessed with two left feet and does NOT dance (only slow dances)! Now that I got Baby C, I have a dance partner! So what did we do on our Friday night?!?! That's right, kitchen dance party after din din! Carson had fun and was laughing so much! We even got Daddy to participate some...true miracle! Can't wait for our next dance party! And if you don't at least smile when you hear Baby C's laugh in the video below, then you must be in a horrible mood! :) It makes me giggle every time!
Don't mind my weird face! haha. I make funny faces when I dance!
Dunk and Kiss!

I had to trick Rob to get this video... If you listen you will hear him ask if I set the camera on a timer. He thought that I was taking a still picture! haha. When I broke the news you could tell he instantly gets more nervous! Little does he know I am posting it to the blog! Love him!

Chocolate Festival

One of my best friends from High School just happens to go to the same school as Rob... that worked out nice :).... and we have been having a lot of fun living in the same city once again! She is always so good about taking time out of her busy schedule to hang out with Carson and I! Elyse found out that Downtown Glendale was having a Chocolate Festival today and we decided that we had to check it out! There was A LOT of chocolate and a lot of people! They dipped everything in chocolate...even bacon..gross! We walked around and looked at all of our choices and decided to play it safe and go for the chocolate covered strawberries! They were VERY yummy! Thanks for hanging out with us Elyse!
They looked much pettier when first got them, but of course since it was blazing hot today they melted a bit on the ride home! Don't worry, they still tasted fantastic!
